Royal Wootton Bassett Town clinched the North Wilts Youth League U14 Cup in style with a 5-0 win against Croft Junior.
Royal Wootton Bassett made the liveliest start of the two sides with Nathanial Bell firing over with just minutes on the clock.
Charlie McCrane and Adam King both went close for Croft before Bassett took the lead on 11 minutes, Daniel Warre tapping home from a corner.
Warre could have made it 2-0 on 13 minutes when he eluded the Croft offside trap only to curl his effort agonisingly wide of the far post.
Bell then found space for a long range shot as Bassett pressed for a second goal but Croft’s Cameron Thomson made a superb block.
George Pritchard tested Bassett keeper David Chimbaza with a left-footed shot before the ever dangerous Warre fired just wide when he looked destined to score.
Jack Lancaster then fired over from a nice cut back from Bell before Bassett eventually doubled their lead on the half hour.
Bell again was the key man as he showed great strength to hold off his marker and centre for Warre to tap home his second of the game.
Croft almost pulled a goal back when Kyle Chester headed over the bar before Michael Gilder fired over from close range 15 minutes into the second half.
Bassett went 3-0 up on 52 minutes when Gilder cut the ball back superbly for Jack Lancaster to tap home inside the six yard box.
Less than a minute later, Wootton Bassett made it 4-0 when Freddie Merrett kneed the ball down before taking it past the Croft defence and placing his shot low past the keeper.
Wootton Bassett rounded off victory with just five minutes remaining, Jed Phillips tapping home the fifth from a Bell free-kick.
